Civil Partnerships came into force on the 5th December 2005 giving same-sex couples legal rights almost equal to marriage when sealing their relationship.

Your Civil Partnership registration can be held in any Register Office or approved venue licensed by the Register Office. You don’t have to have the Registrar perform your ceremony with your registration.

You can choose to have your ceremony wherever you like and by a celebrant of your choice after you have completed your partnership registration.
