What Music Should I Choose?

We do sometimes get asked for suggestions for the music used as a backing track for your wedding film. The simple answer is that you can have whatever you want, as long as the words and meaning of the music are appropriate. A variety of tempos is best as it helps to match the mood of the day.

Some favourites over the last year are below - many seem to be fairly timeless romantic pieces.

  • Can't take my eyes off you - Andy Williams
  • It had to be you - Harry Connick Jr
  • Amazed - Lonestar
  • Dancing in the moonlight - Toploader
  • You're still the one - Shania Twain
  • Let's stay together - Al Green
  • Somewhere over the rainbow - Eva Cassidy
  • I don't wanna miss a thing - Aerosmith
  • Your song - Elton John or Moulin Rouge soundtrack
  • Blowers daughter - Damien Rice
  • Heaven - DJ Sammy
  • Have I told you lately that I love you - Van Morrison
  • Just the 2 of us - Bill Withers
  • Angels - Robbie Williams
  • You do something to me - Paul Weller
  • Songbird - Eva Cassidy
  • Perfect day - Lou Reed
  • Beautiful Day - U2
  • Better Together - Jack Johnson

Some artists which always seem to suit wedding films are Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.

A classical opera track can work well, also some favourite and evocative classical pieces like Pachelbel's Canon.
